Russian evening

This evening we invited American friends who had never eaten russian food. So I’ve made piroshkies and pelmenies  (russian raviolis) for them. We have kind of collection of wooden hand-made bowls, spoons and others which I usually keep in the box. So this day I’ve decided to make russian style and used part of the dishes. And on the back you may see the samovar to heat and boil water. This one is electrical, but the old real one would be much bigger and have place inside for coal to burn and a chimney. September Ornament–Christmas tree

 

 

Here is my September ornament. I’ve made two similar designs which will be finished as Christmas trees. I just need to find two small buckets for decorating. So promise to show it later on.

Americana Basket is ready to frame =)

It took me about two months. It might be faster but I wasn’t persistent in stitching. Backstitching and those small white flowers made this picture vivid despite stitching it was very tiresome. I love the result nevertheless!

Около двух месяцев я над ним трудилась. Не могу назвать себя постоянной и усердной, иначе получилось бы гораздо быстрей =) Вышивать эти белые мелкие цветы, что так оживляют картину, весьма нудное занятие и очень много бэк-ститча. Трудоемко. Но результат мне нравится!

I already have in mind what I’ll be stitching next. It’s winter landscape by Russian company “Zolotoe Runo”. It doesn’t have back stitch at all. One the one hand it makes stitching easier, on the other hand it makes design luck of small details and I love detailed stitching. I’ll see if I like it.

Уже знаю что буду вышивать следующее – зимний пейзаж от Золотое Руно. Там совсем нет бэка, так что вышивать будет легче и быстрей, но в тоже время без прорисовки деталей это немного не то что я люблю. Посмотрим что получится

Gold Rush in Sacramento

 

On the Labor Day weekend we visited Sacramento Gold Rush festival which is held every year. It was so fan!

В Сакраменто в первые выходные сентября проводится ежегодный фестиваль “Золотая лихорадка”. Восттанавливают исторические сцены, костюмы итп времен злотой лихорадки. Детям предлагается много аттракционов. Один из них – намывание золота. Злото конечно не настоящее, но откуда детям знать =) Вобщем присоединяйтесь

August xstitch and more… Не только крестики

As I’ve promised… August was full of events. First and foremost my step grand daughter Alyssa was born. So I was preparing. I’ve crocheted baby blanket for her. You may see me finishing it and the lovely result here =) And I must say I crochet very very rare.

Как я и обещала, рассказываю чем занималась в августе. Ну саме большое событие было рождение внучки моего мужа - Алисы. Для малышки я связала этот миленький пледик. Ниже фото пледика и меня в процессе. Признаюсь что крючком я вяжу крайне редко

August ornament–greeting card

I wasn’t blogging for awhile.. So many things happened this month. I’m going write some about next time. Anyway it doesn’t mean that I left my hobby behind =) Next post I’ll show you what I was doing… And now following the schedule – this month’s ornament

О, давненько меня тут не было. За прошедший месяц было много событий. Завтра попробую описать. Но это не значит что я бросила свoи рукоделки. Тоже завтра. А сегодня по плану орнамент месяца.

Here it is, my August ornament. Nothing of cross stitch just ribbon embroidery. I’ve got Christmas card this time.

Вот такая открыточка у  меня вышилась для августовского орнамента. Никаких крестиков этот раз, только вышивка лентами…
